Desert Dancer announced at Cannes Film Festival - May, 2012

Izabella appeared at Cannes Film Festival where “Desert Dancer”- film in which Izabella serves as a producer was announced. Cast includes Freida Pinto, Reece Ritchie and Tom Cullen. Set in Iran, where dance is illegal, Desert Dancer tells the story of Afshin Ghaffarian (Reece Ritchie) who risked his life to fight for his dream to become a dancer. This film plays against the backdrop of the 2009 election protests, where the passion and defiance of a young generation lit the flame of revolution still sweeping the Middle East and Africa. Production start in September.

Following the success of last year’s Miss Supranational, Izabella was again invited to host this year’s gala. The event was sponsored by her eco foundation EkoMiko and took place in Plock, Poland on August 26. This year’s eco theme was water preservation. Check out clips from last year’s gala here.

Izabella just executive produced her first film titled “Yellow” for director Nick Cassavetes (“The Notebook”, “John Q”) The film stars Heather Wahlquist, Sienna Miller, Lucy Punch, Melanie Griffith, Gena Rowlands and Ray Liotta and tells a story of Mary Holmes, a young woman with a drug habit and a myriad of other problems. Izabella also choreographed a scene in the movie. The movie will be out in 2012.
